What is this? The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program or LIHEAP provides money to help individuals with energy bills and other energy-related expenses. LIHEAP is funded through the federal government and works with state agencies and community action agencies to qualify customers for assistance with heating and cooling costs.
Do I qualify? Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment allows for eligible households making 60% or less of the state median income for households with up to six members and 150% or less of the federal poverty level for households with more than six members to qualify for participation. Other eligibility requirements may also apply. As of 01/17/2024, those income limits are as follows and can also be found here.
